Group Sessions

In addition to the core housing support that Niche CBS provides to its residents, we run up to 10 weekly group sessions to help our residents learn and develop the interests and skills that will support their transition back into independent housing.

Our current group sessions each week are:

Walking Group, Beach Cleaning, Coffee Afternoon, Allotment,

Cooking, Art, Sewing, Shopping, CGL and Tech Resort.

Art Group

Creative activities can offer many benefits to our residents. They can increase confidence, self-esteem and social skills, and provide opportunities for future education, training and employment.

The arts and the creative process can provide inspiration and motivation for change as well as a positive channel for self-expression. It is particularly valuable for people who may struggle with more conventional forms of communication.

We work with local partners in the dedicated space we have provided on-site, to guide and support people into discovering their creative side.

Allotment

We now have our own allotment in Tutts Barn Lane, â€‹it is a big project and certainly needs a lot of love and care, but many residents have already shown a keen commitment to making the project a success.

The long term goal is for the allotment to be run by staff and residents and for the produce to be shared amongst our Niche CBS community and the ingredients used for future workshops and support sessions around cooking and healthy eating and the health benefits dietary changes can bring.

Cooking

Our cooking groups provide many benefits for our residents. Sometimes led by staff and at other times by residents demonstrating their 'signature' dish.

The increase in Physical Health, Mental Health, Meaningful use of time and budgeting are considerable. But more than that the skills from presenting and planning involved in hosting your own cooking demonstration are excellent practice for the future.

Often supported with great produce from our own allotment, the meals are always affordable, always healthy and when grown by us, organic!
